History
Grey Havens' Past
The Grey Havens TCG was technically created before the actual opening day of
January 1st, 2004, sometime around the Christmas holiday of 2003. Next to the
Nine Companions TCG, GH was one of the first Lord of the Rings TCG. In addition, GH was probably one of
the first TCGs to have a team competition, which starting out was called The
King's Challenge, only to be renamed shortly thereafter - The Fellowship of the
Ring. A lot of the Grey Havens was inspired by Mystic Cards, Cephiro Collection as well as Senshi-Card
Mania.
This TCG was hosted at numerous places only to find its place at starlit-seas.
During that time there were many changes as well as activities such as a sprite
collection and using various rings in the form of currency. The majority of the
cards showcased locations rather than characters - it was far into the game
before character decks were even implemented. There was also a deck for the
Return of the King trailer that consisted of 105 cards which can still be seen here.
